Twist & Shout
Described as "the best of the Beatles re-creations; the best produced, the best staged, and the best sound", "Twist and Shout: The Ultimate Beatles Revue" features a sensational look-alike, sound-alike cast that includes Anthony Abruzzo as Paul, Steve Landes as John, David Brighton as George, and Carroll "Beaver" Parker as Ringo. Each has performed as their Beatle in many stage shows, most notably the Broadway play "Beatlemania". The four musicians are joined on-stage by a group of beautiful dancers, who through the course of the evening not only dance to the Beatles' hits, but through several dazzling costume changes evolve from young teenyboppers of the early 60's, to the flower children of the psychedelic era. They even take a turn as 'Bond Girls' during McCartney's 007 theme song, "Live and Let Die". In addition to the on-stage performers, the show consists of multi-media film clips recalling events of the turbulent 60's, as well as highlighting America's first glimpses of the Fab Four, and the hysteria that was to become 'Beatlemania'. Over twenty Beatles songs are performed, and every era of their career is touched upon, from their 1964 debut on the Ed Sullivan show in matching black Edwardian suits and Beatle boots, to the Sgt. Pepper era, complete with satin multi-colored 'Pepper' uniforms, to the hippie era of the late 60's, remembered for the "Let It Be" rooftop concert, and the famous walk across "Abbey Road", from the cover of that album. But the show does not end there. The solo works of Lennon and McCartney are featured, from Lennon's timeless classic "Imagine," right up to the McCartney of today, belting out "Wings" and solo material. The show ends with a Fab Four 'reunion', and a rousing version of the show's title song, "Twist & Shout". All vocals are performed live, and each performer plays his own instrument. The instruments played, as the costumes worn, are authentic to the ones used by the Beatles. "Twist and Shout: The Ultimate Beatles Revue" was voted Northern Nevada's 'Cabaret Show of the Year' for two years running (1993 & 1994). The show broke all attendance records in an extended run at Harvey's Lake Tahoe, NV, and performed sellout engagements at Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, NJ, and the Flamingo Hilton in Las Vegas, NV. Celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Beatles coming to America, or a host of other great reasons, with the critically acclaimed "Twist And Shout: The Ultimate Beatles Revue"
