Danny McLaughlin was born in Manchester, UK, to Irish parents. Danny started playing music at the tender age of 11, first on the guitar, then the mandolin for a short while, before starting on the Uilleann pipes a year later. His mother’s family, the Carberrys on her father’s side and the Nolans on her mother’s side from County Longford, are steeped in traditional Irish music. With a number of pipers in the family, Danny first heard the pipe playing of Davy Spillane, Liam O’Flynn (Planxty) and Paddy Keenan (Bothy Band). He has played with lots of musicians, playing different types of music on the pipes, mainly traditional Irish, but also jazz, blues, classical and rock.

The rest of the band consists of bassist Assaf Hakimi, born in Jerusalem in 1977; drummer Eamon Ellams, from Ellesmere Port in the UK, just outside Liverpool; and guitarist Ziv Shaley from Israel
