Sheila has authored two books. Her latest, Making A Difference, 12 Qualities That Make You A Leader, is a national best seller, published in four languages and sold in seven countries. She is contributor to two other books, Building A Better You, which is about personal excellence and Reflections on Leadership, which also features Peter Senge, M. Scott Peck and other leadership experts. Her columns and articles are published regularly worldwide. In addition Sheila is author of sixteen audio/video training programs benefiting organizations and people around the world.
Sheila's new national Public Television Specials, Making A Difference are a magazine format. The programs feature inspirational and entertaining stories about people in various parts of the country. Some are celebrities, others are local people, all are contributing to the betterment of society. Their examples inspire viewers to feel that with even a small effort, they too can be a person who makes a difference.
Successful Business Woman
Sheila's business career began in her twenties when she accepted the challenge of becoming coordinator of an institute that trained brain-injured children. She went on to an award winning sales and sales management career, building two successful organizations. Sheila has recently been inducted into the International Who's Who of Professional and Business Women's Hall of Fame.
She is Chair of the Bethel Institute, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Sheila has served as an adjunct faculty member at Indiana-Purdue University, San Francisco State University, and the University of Southern California. She is a member of the Institute of Certified Business Counselors and has earned the C.B.C. designation. Her business acumen gives her special insights into the issues so critical in today's competitive marketplace.
In 1990 Sheila and her husband Bill Bethel interfaced with the White House and the Polish Parliament to consult with and train Polish businesses being transformed by privatization. They established the first privately owned business training center in Eastern Europe, located in Opole, Poland.
In 1998 Sheila was appointed to the Board of Advisors, of America's Promise - The Alliance For Youth. This national youth movement is chaired by General Colin L. Powell, USA (Ret).
