Pete du Pont has served as a state legislator, United States Congressman, governor of Delaware, and in 1988 was a Republican candidate for President of the United States. He began his political career in 1968 with his election to the House of Representatives of the Delaware General Assembly. Throughout his public policy career, Mr. Du Pont has addressed a wide range of critical issues: tax reduction, deregulation, youth unemployment, and the quality of education in our schools. He has developed a reputation for taking on the toughest challenges and successfully meeting them. Mr. du Pont is currently the director of the Delaware law firm of Richards, Layton & Finger. In addition to his legal practice, he is the editor of IntellectualCapital.com, a weekly on-line public policy journal, and is a syndicated journalist and featured columnist in CEO Magazine. Pete du Pont lives in Delaware.
