Merrie Spaeth is the author of Marketplace Communication and the founder of her own communications training and consulting firm. Her unique background includes assignments in the media, government, and private sector. She was a producer for ABC's 20/20 program and a speech writer for the late William Paley, the founder and chairman of CBS. As director of media relations in the Reagan White House, she pioneered the use of satellite communications and started the electronic White House News Service. Today, she heads a successful consulting practice, teaching executives how to use communication as a strategic tool. She is also a guest lecturer at Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business.
