On a cool March day in a small town in Iowa, Tom Arnold was born a healthy, ten-pound baby. As the oldest child of six brothers and sisters, he quickly discovered the power of comedy to bring joy to the people around him.

In attempt to escape the grind of his early jobs in the corn business and at the Hormel meat packing plant, Tom got his first official start in comedy by performing at the University of Iowa´s open mic night. After college, he moved to Minnesota, where he won the Minnesota Comedy Competition in 1988.

His introduction to Hollywood began after he moved to Los Angeles as a writer on the highly successfully television series Roseanne, before eventually serving as Executive Producer of the sitcom. He then went on to star in three installments of his own HBO special entitled Tom Arnold: The Naked Truth, and then wrote, produced and starred in three of his own television series; The Jackie Thomas Show, Tom and The Tom Show. Shortly after, Tom´s acting career took off. His big screen debut was opposite Dustin Hoffman in Hero.

Tom received critical acclaim for his role in James Cameron's True Lies with Arnold Schwartzenegger. Recently, he took the leap away from comedy with his part in the prison drama Animal Factory, which was directed by Steve Buscemi and starred Willem Dafoe and Edward Furlong.

As a writer, producer and actor, Tom Arnold has established himself with both television and film audiences worldwide, having won such awards as the Peabody Award for writing and a Golden Globe for writing and producing.
