A new blend of New Orleans Funk performed by the Originator, guitarist Leo Noscentelli, founder of the Meters. The Meters formed in 1967 in New Orleans with Leo on guitar. The Funkin Truth is an adaptation of New Orleans funk not just a retro show. Leo composed such known funk tunes as Cissy Strut, Look a Py Py, Fire on the Bayou etc. The Meters were one of America's original musical treasures having brought forward instrumental funk featuring great musical hooks and New Orleans second line drumming. The Meters have influenced the Neville Brothers, Galactic, Robben Ford, P-Funk Derek Trucks, and Dr. John. The Meters records have recently been re released on Rhino records.

Oteil Burbridge is the premier bass player on the planet today. Oteil was handpicked by Dickey Betts to replace Allen Woody in the Allman Brothers. Prior to that Oteil had been the major driving force behind Col. Bruce Hampton and the Aquarium Rescue Unit. Oteil perfected the art of scat singing along with playing the same notes on the bass, a feat never done on record before. Oteil adds new energy to the Allman Brothers Band with a musical feel never before been done. Oteil sights the Meters as one of his all time favorite band s and is excited to be playing with Leo Noscentelli.

Rounding out the lineup on drums is Woody Williams, a student of New Orleans funk and Jazz who played with Oteil in his solo lineup Oteil and the Peacemakers.
