In fact, nearly everything he has worked on over the years has been fueled with his vision of art and music as vehicles for expressing a positive message. 'I still have the same attitude. Born Martyn Jerel Buchwald in Cincinnati, Ohio, on January 30, 1942, Marty was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area by parents Joe and Jean Buchwald. Joe became an important part in the 60s San Francisco music scene. As a lithographer, he was responsible for printing more than 200 different posters for shows at famous clubs like the Matrix, the Fillmore and Avalon Ballrooms. Jean started and kept the Jefferson Airplane scrap books featuring many of the photos and newspaper clippings that are exclusive to this site.
Marty met singer/guitarist Paul Kantner at the local club the Drinking Gourd, and together they formed Jefferson Airplane. Initially a folk-rock venture, the group came to epitomize the psychedelic scene, scoring a gold record with their 1967 second album, Surrealistic Pillow. Although vocalist Grace Slick was the focal point of hits such as "Somebody to Love" and "White Rabbit," Balin\\\'s soulful tenor proved a pivotal element of their sound as well. He also wrote key compositions including "Its No Secret" "Today," "Comin' Back To Me" "Plastic Fantastic Lover" 'Share a Little Joke," and\"Volunteers."
Marty was the founder and featured vocalist for Jefferson Airplane from 1965 to 1971. He appeared with the group during their performances at Monterey Pop Festival in 1967, Woodstock, and the disastrous Altamont Speedway concert in 1969. Balin was knocked unconscious by a biker from the Hells Angels motorcycle club while he was trying to save a couple of fans from being beaten by the Hells Angels. (This event was captured on film in the Rolling Stones documentary Gimme Shelter).
Marty, who is also an accomplished painter, entered the new millennium painting and exhibiting his work at various art galleries. He continued touring on and off with Jefferson Starship and released four albums of his own: Nashville Sessions, Mercy of The Moon, Nothin' 2 Lose, and Time For Every Season. In 2009 Balin spent the year on and off in the studio with Slick Aguilar recording new songs for the album Blue Highway to be released in the summer of 2010.
Jefferson Airplane performed at the Berkeley Folk Festival, Monterey Jazz Festival, Monterey Pop Festival, Woodstock, and Altamont. They had hit singles White Rabbit and Somebody to Love, from the album "Surrealistic Pillow". They were on the cover of Life Magazine in 1968. The band co- headlined with the Doors in Europe in the summer of 1968. Many legendary bands opened for the Airplane: Grateful Dead, Santana, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Who, Janis Joplin, Steve Miller, and many others.
The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996. THE MARTY BALIN BAND

Biography
There are hundreds, if not thousands of tribute bands performing the music of the Beatles, Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, U2, and other monsters of rock. But Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young? Next to none. A band dedicated to tributing CSNY is unheard of due to the difficulty in replicating the 3- and 4-part vocal harmonies that made the group international superstars. Marrakesh Express is the world's only touring CSNY tribute band and excels at reproducing their complex songs and cascading, layered harmonies. The band takes the audience back to the late 1960s with youthful musicians who bring an authentic hippie vibe and visual to the stage. CSNY was arguably the biggest band in the world after the demise of the Beatles, and is one of the most enduring and influential musical groups of all time. The band, born in the turbulent years of the late 1960s, released hit after hit that spoke directly for their generation. MANDRAKE is a Brazilian born singer that has performed with numerous bands in South America and North America along his career including Sacred Sinner,Tailgunners,Judas Priest's MetalMeltdown and The Smoking Guns. To better acomplish his dreams and goals in the music industry, he decided to live in the City of Angels. He is currently the lead singer of Axehammer, a cult classic power metal established in the 80's and now his passion for Motley Crue has brought him to become Motley 2's own Vince Neil!
Darryl Strucke Darryl Strucke Darryl Strucke started playaing guitar at 13. His first stage apperarance was in 9th grade playing "Looks That Kill" for a lip sync. He started playing bass later, then bought a bass while attending college. He joined "From The Heart" after graduating, and has been playing bass ever since.

Mark Hagen Mark Hagen (on lead guitar) got his first taste of Rock & Roll when he was a young boy thanks to a few older brothers who were into the music of Cream, Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, and The Who to name a few. This music was deeply absorbed into Mark's consciousness and would fuel a lifelong passion for music. Mark studied playing guitar at 14, and shortly after started garage bands before performing in a power trio for 800 people in a large auditorium at his high school talent show. Mark's group did not win the contest but made him a hit with the high school kids, while it made him an instant outlaw with high school authority figures. After high school, Mark relocated to LA and shortly thereafter began playing the Hollywood club circuit before increasingly larger audiences and prominent legendary clubs.

David Lee David Lee David Lee began playing percussion in high school as a means to avoid class. He joined his first rock band after graduation while attending college on a percussion scholarship, only to have the demands of the rock band overwhelm his academic pursuits. His first band created the opportunity to contribute to writing originals and his first real recording experience. He also spent over two years traveling and performing, using that experience to develop his style.
Realizing his musical aspirations extended beyond the Midwest, David relocated to California to attend Musician’s Institute in Hollywood and soon after established himself with the local LA scene. This led David on a 14 month coast-to-coast tour in support of an independent release CD.
Joining a Motley Crue tribute band is David’s way of paying homage to one of his favorite drummers and recognizing his roots; aggressive, hard-hitting drumming with plenty of style.

Born in East LA. Performing in bands since age 15. Heavily influenced by the progressive rock acts of the 70's and 80's. Played in numerous cover bands, performing everything from Rock, Funk, Top 40, Blues, Metal, Disco, Alternative and Latin music. Electric rock harpist sets the stage for a revolutionary music experience. Cleveland is the American city where the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum resides; fitting then that Cleveland should also be the home of rock harpist Christina Kline. Inspired by legendary rock artists, Kline has a unique style demonstrating cutting- edge artistic expression, a showcase of creative arrangements that electronically transform the harp.
As a child, Christina was moved by the elegance and tone of the harp, and began her formal studies at age twelve with Laura Erb. Ms. Erb has been recognized for her expertise in music arrangements for Hollywood’s movie music scores (“ The Godfather”, “Love Story”, “Fiddler on the Roof“) It was only three months later Christina began performing for events, country clubs, restaurants, Cleveland’s Playhouse Square, etc.
Ready to pursue a career in music, Christina attended Ohio University where she majored in harp performance. Upon receiving a call to play in Cleveland for the king of Jordan, she returned and shortly thereafter began her private practice teaching over 26 students, formed a harp ensemble, and began her own agency “Makin’ Music” acting as agent and promoting local musicians. She continued to play locally including a ten year engagement at the Ritz Carlton in downtown Cleveland and had impromptu performances with rock icons including Robert Plant, Rodger Daltry, Billy Joel, etc. The sessions could go on for hours and the seeds for “Harp Rock” were taking root.
Here is an artist that produced and released her first recording in 1992 “Golden Harp Lullabies” with the St. Angela choir creating a soothing atmosphere for children to fall asleep to. The sheer magic of recording “Egyptian Harp Dreams” in 1997 contains a collection of Egyptian folk songs dating as far back as 896 AD truly representative of the unique mysticism of ancient Egypt. Distributed to Borders, Barnes & Noble, and the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas, art museums, libraries, and yoga facilities across the United States. Independently, Christina has recorded 4 CD’s. “Harp Rock” caught the attention of Fox producer/creator (Hart Hanson) of the popular weekly show “Bones”. In 2007 Christina’s version of the ZZ Top classic Gimmie All Your Lovin’ was heard on an episode of the show. “Harp Rock” contains 14 classic rock songs you have loved throughout the years.

Georgette is not only the daughter of country legends, George Jones and Tammy Wynette, but is an accomplished singer and songwriter in her own right. She is signed to Heart of Texas Records and is currently recording her second CD and has a book titled "The Three of Us" to be released in July, 2011. Georgette also had a reoccurring role in the tv series "Sordid Lives" co-staring with Leslie Jordan and Olivia Newton-John. She travels both within the US and overseas showcasing both a traditional Opry style show and also a more modern style country show.

Hello, let me introduce myself to those who have not yet met me. I am Alan Moore, I live in a small town in Derbyshire . I have been singing Elvis songs for as long as I can remember, being a massive fan I have sung along with Elvis as you do in the car or at work, so singing Elvis on stage is like second nature to me, I feel so at ease singing these great songs. I enjoy my caravan at the East Coast, which allows me to do a great deal of my Tribute work in and around Skegness and Mablethorpe at a very reasonable rate, due to the fact that I stay in my caravan overnight, hence no hotel bills !!! I enjoy going to see other artists not just Elvis, I love all types of music and visit the concert halls on a regular basis. I have a lovely dog, Clover a very nice Golden Retriever. We have two sons and a daughter with nine grandchildren.Thank you for reading this brief insight into our lives and hope to meet you all at various different venues and towns.
