SleamSleam
The Vaudeville show has stories with themes ranging from immigration, gender and sexuality, finding one’s own creativity and developing a sense of community. An apparently random collection of skits in fact builds upon itself to reveal the open and often funny life on the road. The sub-title WHAT AM I DOING HERE? refers to how she finds herself in these strange situations, learning odd skills and then wondering what will she do with them. Philosophically, geographically and practically speaking, SLEAM is often lost in this world. This is her chance to make some sense of all she’s experienced that brings her to settle in rural Northern New Mexico. SARAH LEAMY (a.k.a. SLEAM) is a writer, visual artist, clown, stilt-walker, storyteller, photographer and performer. Raised in a small town in England, her family took her traveling across Europe whenever possible. This interest in travel continued as she left home, studied at London University, and then started exploring, performing and writing her way across Europe, Guatemala and the States. She graduated in 2007 from the San Francisco Clown Conservatory. She is the founder of the Clowning Around Project. She invites other performers to teach, perform and work with her.
