John Cubito & Heather Vacarr
If Neil Young and Janis Joplin got together in the studio... they just might sound a little like this!

John Cubito's (aka Chicky's Boy) performing style has often been compared to that of Neil Young and other folk/rock acts of the 1970's. Among his major influences are Neil Young, The Eagles, and Jimmy Buffett.

Heather Vacarr is influenced by the singing of Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, and more recently Beth Hart.

So, how do two artists with diverse influences get together to form a duo and make a cd? Very easily it seems. On stage, John and Heather have great chemestry. Like Sonny & Cher way before them, they have fun and enjoy entertaining their audience.

John Cubito and Heather Vacarr joined forces in 2004. Heather performed a stunning accapella set at an open mic night that John was hosting. Heather sang a spot on rendition of Joplin's "Mercedes Benz". It was then that Cubito knew that they would work together. Soon after John asked her to sing backup on his 2004 cd release Chicky's Boy "Just For You". After 3 years of performing together in the group, Chicky's Boy, John & Heather have released their first cd of new original songs together as a duo. In 2007, their cd, John Cubito & Heather Vacarr "The Story" has recieved excellent reviews.
