Cathy Sorbo
Cathy Sorbo began performing on Seattle stages in 1982 as one-half of the a-cappella comedy duo “The Sympathy Cards.” Together they enjoyed success while sporting unsavory hair-do’s and earrings larger than their own faces.

She then moved on to San Francisco where she blossomed as solo act, receiving a “Brilliant but Unheralded” and a “Notable Arrivals” award from the San Francisco Chronicle. Highlights during her time there was opening for Joan Jett and the Blackhearts as well as Buster Poindexter at The Fillmore.

Next stop: London, England. In her year there she performed in glorious theaters as well as backrooms of pubs. She once shared the bill with a pre-drag Eddie Izzard and was a runner-up in the Hackney Empire's New Act of the Year competition.

Subsequent work involved one year with MTV Networks in New York where an animated pilot was produced. She also made appearances at comedy festivals in Aspen, Montreal and Cape Town, South Africa.

Cathy is a sideline announcer for the Rat City Rollergirls roller derby team and writes a weekly column in the Saturday Spin section of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

Location: Seattle, WA
