Sam Fulwood III is a correspondent for the Los Angeles Times in Washington, D.C., where he created a race relations beat. A former Nieman Fellow at Harvard University, he wrote award-winning stories on the Clarence Thomas hearings and contributed to his paper's Pulitzer Prize-winning coverage of the Los Angeles riots in 1992.
