Mark Breier is a rare Internet expert. He's led two well-known dot-com companies to top 10 e-commerce rankings and, before that, served as a leader in brick-and-mortar companies, including Kraft Foods.

At Amazon.com Mark joined as VP of Marketing and developed funny radio ads (is the Pentagon big enough for Amazon.com books? the Rose Bowl?), launched innovative promotions (want to write an on-line book with John Updike?), and participated in the company's hypergrowth as the company zoomed past one million customers and one thousand employees and went public.

More recently as president and CEO at Beyond.com, Mark led the company as it became one of the top 10 consumer e-commerce sites, secured major government contracts (including a $120 million IRS software contract), and solicited agreements to run sites for major software publishers. Mark's pre dot-com positions include executive roles at Kraft Foods, Dreyer's/Edy's Grand Ice Cream, and Cinnabon World Famous Cinnamon Rolls.

Today, Mark invests and advises start-ups through an angel investment fund (Start-up Funding) and is one of Silicon Valley's leading Internet experts. He frequently speaks to business and universities audiences across the US (Speaking). He serves on the board of ecfood.com (www.ecfood.com), a company recently cited as "Best of the Web" by Forbes.com and as a "company to watch" by Goldman Sachs.

Mark graduated with a B.A. in Economics from Stanford University, where he was awarded the Wallace E. Sterling Award, the school's highest annual award to a single graduating senior. He also earned an MBA from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business.

Mark lives in the Bay area with his wife, Ronda, two sons, and their cat, Rex. He's active with kids and parent groups, Stanford University (was former director for the alumni association), and several basketball pick-up groups. His passions include life improvements via technology, travel and current events.
