For the past several years, her work has focused on organizations that want to achieve organizational coherence in the midst of chaotic environments. Her first book, the best-selling Leadership and the New Science: Learning About Organization from an Orderly Universe, was named "Best Management Book of 1992" in Industry Week. Her new book, A Simpler Way (1996), co-authored with Myron Kellner-Rogers, is also a best-seller. Wheatley heads the Berkana Institute, a non-profit educational and scientific research foundation, and is a principal of Kellner-Rogers and Wheatley. She is a frequent keynote speaker in the U.S. and internationally.
