After receiving his Bachelors Degree from the University of Missouri, Dr. George Lucas served in field sales positions with American Hospital Supply Corporation and Pitney Bowes. He then returned to MU to complete his MBA and later his Ph.D. He has served on the Graduate Faculty of Texas A&M University's Marketing Department. In 1987, he joined the graduate faculty of the University of Memphis, where he served for a decade as a Full Professor. He is highly regarded as a speaker, trainer, and expert in marketing strategy, negotiations, retailing, sales, and international marketing. George is frequently quoted in magazines, newspapers, and trade publications, and is featured on a popular nationally televised program on personal selling.
Lucas is the author of several leading business books, including Retailing, Marketing Strategy and Plans, Marketing Strategy Text and Cases, and Strategic Marketing Management. In his training and consulting activities, he has impacted literally thousands of salespeople, buyers, marketing managers, and top executives, representing hundreds of firms, including BellSouth, Wal-Mart, FedEx, Armor All, Proctor and Gamble and International Paper.
