Joe Kogel had just won a national award for his writing when, at age 25, he was diagnosed with metastatic malignant melanoma. Two years later, as part of his own healing process, Kogel began performing a humorous and poignant set of autobiographical stories which illustrate that within life's great difficulties often lie its greatest gifts. Today, this 12-year survivor of cancer performs his one-man show, Life and Depth: Very Funny Stories About Very Scary Things, for health care professionals, associations, businesses, colleges, and universities. Kogel presents a world in which the problem is not adversity but how one faces adversity. Life and Depth is a stirring presentation on the thrill of being alive by a master storyteller.
