Eddie Mekka played Carmine Ragusa (the Big Ragu), Shirley's on again-off again boyfriend, on "Laverne and Shirley" from 1976-1983. Eddie is a well-rounded performer, talented as an actor, singer, and dancer. He has received a Tony nomination for "The Lieutenant" during the time of "Laverne and Shirley". He appeared in the movie "A League of Their Own", directed by Penny Marshall, in 1992, where he did a spectacular dance sequence with Madonna. One of his more recent works is the 1997 movie "Top of the World".
