Whether helping emerging talents find their voice or established stars refine their signature sound, Narada Michael Walden continues to guide musical artists toward both critical acclaim and commercial success. Drawing from a seemingly endless source of talent and musical knowledge, this versatile, multi-Grammy Award and Emmy Award winning producer, composer and performer is fully adept in diverse styles and genres of contemporary music, including pop, rock, jazz, Rn'B, dance, hip-hop, fusion, country and world music. As a result, Walden continues to deliver smash hits, best-selling albums and award-winning movie soundtracks for an eclectic group of artists. And, while he works with current superstars like Aretha Franklin, Wynonna Judd, The Temptations, and Stevie Wonder, he also plays an important role in working with new talents, helping them become the stars of the future.

Narada Michael Walden made his mark in music in the early 1970s as a drumming sensation with the famed fusion group, Mahavishnu Orchestra (filling the chair of Billy Cobham). He also wrote for and performed on Jeff Beck's Wired album. From those successes, he has gone on to enjoy a rich, rewarding career writing, producing and performing on 11 solo albums, and achieving back-to-back #1 hits on the Billboard Rn'B charts. His reputation as a hit-making producer and composer has earned him many industry awards, including several Grammy awards (1987 Producer of the Year, 1993 Album of the Year for the soundtrack to the movie, THE BODYGUARD, and 1985 Song of the Year for writing, producing and arranging Aretha Franklin's Freeway of Love). Other accolades include an Emmy Award for Whitney Houston's One Moment in Time, which served as the 1988 Olympic theme song, and an Academy Award nomination for As Long As I Can Dream, the theme song for the movie, STUART LITTLE.

In 1985, Walden opened Tarpan Studios, a state-of-the-art recording facility located in Marin County, California, which also serves as headquarters for his production company, Perfection Light Productions. Narada explains, "The name Tarpan means 'satisfaction unparalled', and that is an ideal that I can aspire to giving joy to whomever comes to my door so that they can put that joy on tape." There he has hosted some of the world's most respected artists, including Ray Charles, Diana Ross, Al Green, James Brown, The Temptations, Sheena Easton, Patti LaBelle, Smoky Robinson, George Benson, Al Jarreau, Yolanda Adams, Sting, Tatyana Ali, Starship, Debelah Morgan, Eddy Murphy and many others.

His prolific and highly successful record as a hit-making producer led Billboard Magazine to name Narada Michael Walden one of the "Top Ten Producers with the Most Number One Hits." In 1999, he received the Smokey Robinson Heroes and Legends' Legacy Award. Walden's ability to inspire others is not limited to the studio as he generously donates his time and talents to many charitable causes, including the Breast Cancer Society of America and the Leukemia Society of America, which named him "Man of the Year" in 1998. He also has served as Musical Director for many charitable events, including the 1997 VH-1 Honors Show to benefit "Music in Schools Today," and performed in 2000 at Muhammad Ali's Fight Night.

Highlights of the past few years include writing for and producing the entire album for Sony's up-and-coming young artist Tiffany Evans, producing and arranging three songs for Wynonna Judd's What The World Needs Now album, and being a writer on several songs including Nas' title track to "Stillmatic" and Tom Jones' "Sexbomb." He also traveled to Egypt to produce Egyptian popstar Hakim's latest smash album. He produced a duet for Hakim with Mr. James Brown and another with Stevie Wonder.

In 2004 Narada once again rocked the world with his talents. He was honored for the fifth time to be the Musical Director for Sting and Trudie Styler's Rainforest Concert at Carnegie Hall. The Rainforest Shows have included the tightest house band around and a host of stars including Sting, Elton John, James Taylor, Billy Joel, Lulu, Nina Simone, Patti LaBelle, Han-Na Chang, Wynonna Judd, Ravi
