Diane Nichols was born and raised in San Francisco in a semi-show business family. Her mother was a singer/dancer and her father gave great eulogies. Moving to Hollywood to start her own professional career, she honed her skills at all the local open-mike nights and comedy clubs. "Audition nights were surreal. One time on stage, I realized that every third person in the room was tuning a guitar," recalls Diane.

After the Comedy Store gave Diane the nod, she became a regular on stage and her career moved along quickly. She has appeared on Evening At The Improv, Late Night With David Letterman, and on HBO's Women of the Night. Diane made a dream-come-true appearance on The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson, where she was awarded the coveted thumbs up from Johnny. "The thumb was quickly yanked down by Buddy Hackett who was trying to get Carson's attentionfame is so fleeting," sighs Diane. She has since appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, as well. Her shoot-from-the-lip style has made her a recent favorite on Comedy Central's Politically Incorrect.

Diane's travels have taken her to comedy clubs in Denmark and Sweden as well as aboard the Princess Lines cruise ships. She has performed for a wide array of corporate audiences ranging from automobile dealerships to health care providers. She was hailed as "the heroine of the 9 to 5 crowd," and "a slick pro with flawless timing," by Newsweek Magazine.

For several years Diane proudly acted as Mistress of Ceremonies at the Ralston-Purina "Meow Off" where she learned that "you cannot get a cat out of a shower stall if she's determined to give birth." More recently, Diane emceed the tribute to Lucille Ball at the Academy of Motion Picture Art & Sciences. She just finished a stint as a writer for LifeTime Network's Girl's Night Out, and this fall will be seen on the network's new series The World According To Us.
