Originating form Philadelphia as the Latineers in 1956, this ensemble consisted of Donald Banks, Albert Berry, Norman Burnett, and George Hilliard. George Williams was added as a lead singer in 1960 and the name was changed to the Tymes. The groups debut single, “So Much In Love” was a hit from the start, resulting in a series of albums on just as many labels. The Tymes made a comeback in the 1970’s with “It’s Cool” in 1976, reaching number three on the R&B charts.
