Lisa was born and raised in the small town of Louisville, Mississippi. In church, at the age of six, she sang her first solo. The receptive crowd encouraged Lisa to sing again and again. She still receives this same warm response today. Only now, the audiences have been watching Lisa perform in theaters, ballrooms, and even bombed out warehouses in Bosnia where she participated in a U.S.O. tour. However, she loves to get back to her hometown and sing at the church where it all began.

While studying music and journalism at Belmont University in Nashville, TN, Lisa signed a record deal with RCA/BNA Records. Her first album was released in January 1992. Her first national television appearance was on “Crook And Chase” to promote the album. While on the show, Jim Owens, the executive producer, saw something special in Lisa. “She jumped off the screen. She radiates classic star quality. Whatever ‘it’ is, Lisa’s got it,” he explained. He offered her the co-host position of the national syndicated show, “#1 Country”, and that was the start of her television career. Since then, Lisa has had four national television shows and has covered the CMAs for E! Television. Most recently, from 1996-1999, she co-hosted TNN’s “This Week In Country Music”. Lisa has continued touring, headlining shows and opening for many acts including, Kenny Rogers, Lenny Kravitz, Travis Tritt, and The Statler Brothers. Currently, she is writing an album to be released in the CCM market in the summer of 2000. Also, look for the release of her pop project and an upcoming tribute to Cole Porter.

As a popular act for conventions, Lisa tours with a band which includes a horn section. Due to Lisa’s love of different genres and the various musical tastes of conventioneers, her live show incorporates a bit of country, pop/rock, funk, R&B and jazz standards. Lisa’s live show is a must see. Those who have booked Lisa are never disappointed. Her live show speaks for itself. The Agricultural Retailers had never had the same act twice…except for Lisa. At the Daytona 500, Lisa performed for the Grand Marshall’s Dinner. She was warned that after the long day at the races, the room would probably be half empty by the time she wound up the dinner with entertainment. Not a soul left the ballroom. Lisa and her band received a standing ovation. The buyer, Bill France, was so pleased the he paid $10,000 more than the amount agreed upon.
