When two powerful winds collide above the Lone Star plain, every Texan knows what it means. The meeting of Blake Weldon and Brian Gowan was more subtle, but the outcome no less dynamic than a mighty Texas twister. Now, with Blake & Brian's debut album poised for release of MCG/Curb Records, country music fans will want to brave the tempest to see this compelling duo action. Blake brings the musical sensibilities of his hero, George Strait, to the mix; and Brian, the lonesome, ornery influence of Waylon Jennings. The disparate singer/songwriters had never crossed paths in their home state before producer Chuck Howard engineered their first meeting in May, 1995. After working with each individually, Howard had a hunch that, as a duo, they could create an undeniable melding of styles, harmonies and writing talents. His hunch proved true.
