Serial Joe have come a long way since releasing their 1998 independent CD Kicked. Having exploded early onto the music scene, they quickly netted a 1998 Much Music Video Award for Best Independent Video (Skidrow) and gained the attention of the music industry. Their debut CD Face Down with Aquarius/DKD Group, has gone on to become a platinum album with undeniably catchy melodies and sounds, yielding three music videos for their hit singles "Mistake" "Deep", and "Should Have Been Mine"; garnering the band a 1999 Much Music Video Award nomination for Best Rock Video (Mistake), and most recently, a 2000 Much Music VideoFACT Award for Best Video (Deep) -- the latter being presented by Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons of KISS during their tour with KISS! Topping off 1999, Much Music selected "Mistake" and "Deep" as #19 and #47 of their Top 100 Favourite Videos of '99, in addition to adding "Mistake" on its compilation CD Big Shiny Tunes #4.

In a scant two years, Serial Joe have received a 1999 YTV Achievement Award for Best Band, and a number of nominations including a 2000 Much Music Award nomination(People's Choice Award for Best Canadian Band), a Juno nomination for Best New Band, and a Gemini Award nomination for Best Specialty Show (YTV Achievement Awards, 10th Anniversary Show).

It was the infectious single, "Mistake" that familiarized the band to fans all across Canada and abroad--charting on radio stations all across the country and #1 on Musique Plus -- earning Serial Joe the Best New Rock Group title at the Canadian Radio Music Awards. Chart Magazines Fifth Annual Year-End Reader's Poll (December 1999) gave them #3 Best Song and #2 Best Video.

Having toured Canada numerous times, Serial Joe were invited to play both the 1999 and 2000 Edgefest tours, the now infamous "Woodstock '99", and open for KISS during their 3-city Canadian stop-over tour! They have also shared the stage with such bands as Live, Creed, Vertical Horizon, the Matthew Good Band, Moist, Edwin, the Tea Party, I Mother Earth, and Bruce Cockburn.

Exploring beyond the foray of music, the band (Dennis, most notably) have filmed a made-for-TV movie, "Out of Sync" for American cable channel VH-1, have appeared in a six-series show for YTV (Dennis and Stadnicki), and have periodically guest hosted YTV's Hit List. Numerous television appearances have included the Mike Bullard Show, Jonovision, Rush Hour for Outdoor Life, Real Life TV, Volt, tfo, and seven live interviews on Much Music and Musique Plus including a blistering 90 minute Artiste du Mois (Artist of the Month, Intimate and Interactive) at Musique Plus in Sept. 00.

Earlier this summer, the band released it's second CD, Serial Joe... working again with Dave "Rave" Ogilvie, of Skinny Puppy fame, and producer of such artists as Marilyn Manson, Jane's Addiction, and Nine Inch Nails. Re-mixes and re-recordings of songs have been incorporated on the CD in conjunction with producers/mixers Tom Lord-Algae(Tea Party, Hole, Gob), Don Gilmour (Lit, Eve 6), Byron Wong (Metal Dog), and Jimi "La Mort" Cavalluzzo; allowing the boys to explore new musical directions and showcase their developing sound and evolution as a band. Songs like Absence of Mind and Another Time showcase heavier guitar-filled rock anthems and solid drum beats, while What I See, Silently Screaming, and Out of Hand offer melodic melodies and soaring vocals. The latest videos for the hit single, Silently Screaming and notably, What I See, display an increasing maturity and style that is all their own. The band skillfully juggles power chords and melodies, alternating between intense brilliant beats, writhing guitars, diverse time changes and chord structures, and soaring, intelligent lyrics. Constantly changing and growing, Serial Joe continues to surprise everyone. As a group they are just beginning...
