Rebeka Reed
In 2002, Rebeka completed a US Summer tour, which included performing at three of Atlantic Recording Artist Jewel’s “This Way” Tour dates in Ft. Lauderdale, Boston and Detroit. Opening for Jewel and M2M as part of Jewel’s Developing Artist Platform – Soul City Café (www.soulcitycafe.com) and performing for the Canadian Embassy’s Canada Day Celebrations in Washington DC. Rebeka at 22-year-old has performed on numerous television and radio programs, showcased at the Canadian Juno Awards 2002, 2002 ECMA Weekend and Nova Scotia Music Week. Three songs from her album have played on numerous commercial, college, community and internet radio stations. Rebeka’s upcoming scheduled will include being the ECMA Correspondent for CBC National Radio One program ‘Sounds Like Canada’, eight performances during the ECMA Week in Halifax, NS and showcasing at Canadian Music Week in Toronto. - 2003 East Coast Music Award (ECMA) Pop Artist/Group of the Year nominee - Music Industry Association of Nova Scotia (MIANS)Music Industry Artist of the Year nominee - MIANS Nova Award (New Artist/Group that show promise in 2003) - Just Plain Folks Music Awards Best Pop Song of the Year nominee for “Feel Good!” Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Rebeka has worked as a model; co-hosted the national TV show “Street Cents” on CBC; has had three movie role credits including “Patsy” in “Cadillac Girls” and a destitute child in Disney’s “The Journey of Natty Gann”; played the lead role in the theatre production of “Annie”; studied in the dramatic arts program at Hollywood High School – Los Angeles (winning the best actress award for her roles as Anna in the “King and I” and Scapino, in a play of the same name); has done numerous commercial ads for print, television and radio.
