Peter Stuart
Peter built his following in a very grass roots fashion, opening as a solo performer for the Counting Crows on their 1994 tour. He won over legions of fans all across North America and Europe purely on the raw intimacy of his perfomances and the strength of his home made three-song cassette, of which he sold six thousand copies from the stage. From there, he went on to open for Tori Amos and Cracker before signing with Columbia Records in 1995. He soon released a CD entitled Happy Nowhere under the band name Dog's Eye View. The album sold over 400,000 copies and the single "Everything Falls Apart" was a top ten hit. Dog's Eye View toured for a couple of years before releasing their second album, "Daisy". Two songs off the CD, "Last Letter Home" and "Umbrella", were featured in the major motion picture "Can't Hardly Wait" (Columbia). In 1999, Peter decided to step out from behind the name Dog's Eye View and record and perform once again as a solo act. He has just finished his new CD entitled "Songs About You", which will be released later this year. Guests on the album include Moon Zappa, Adam Duritz from the Counting Crows and X's drummer DJ Bonebrake. Currently Peter is writing songs with Warner Brothers recording artist Janice Robinson for her upcoming release. He is also producing songs for singer/songwriter Jason Mraz. This summer will find Peter returning to his grass roots beginnings to tour with the Counting Crows and Live in support of his new collection of songs.
