Pat DiNizio is the founder, principal songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist for the platinum recording artists The Smithereens. They’ve recorded nine albums for Capitol and RCA records with hits like "A Girl Like You," "Too Much Passion," and "Blood & Roses." Smithereens songs and DiNizio’s solo recordings have appeared in the films Bull Durham, Backdraft, Time Cop, Encino Man, Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion, Boys Don’t Cry, and many others.

DiNizio is currently program director and radio personality for XM Satellite Radio’s "XM UNSIGNED", the first ever and only national radio station to focus solely on the music of unsigned bands, emerging artists, and independent record labels.

He is also spokesperson and chairman of the advisory board for B.E.A.M. (Benefiting Emerging Artists in Music) for the past five years, bestowing over $100,000 a year in grant monies to unsigned musicians and emerging artists on behalf of Jim Beam Brands.

DiNizio was responsible for creating the critically acclaimed "Living Room Tour", an innovative, never-before-attempted, 65,000 mile, three-month cross-country trek that found him performing concerts in the homes and backyards of 100 Smithereens fans across the U.S.

He was host of the nationally syndicated college radio shows The Maxwell House Coffee Sessions, The Citibank Visa Coffeehouse Sessions, and The Kit Kat Acoustic Break for ten years broadcasting on over 900 college radio stations across America.

DiNizio was a Republican Party Committeeman at age 18 and the Reform Party Candidate for U.S. Senate in New Jersey in 2000.

His television credits include Saturday Night Live, Politically Incorrect, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, MTV’s Unplugged, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, CBS’s This Morning, and the Arsenio Hall Show.
