The increase in alternative music on the nations airwaves is well documented and the combined sounds of Rock, Reggae, Soul, R&B, Hip-Hop and Ska have exploded around the world. Internet radio stations and mainstream stations alike, have embraced this new form of composite music as the sound of a new generation. Consequently, a whole new musical market has emerged and COMMON SENSE is right in the thick of it!

COMMON SENSE earned its stripes by playing virtually all of California�s premier night clubs, music festivals and fairs including the Reggae Sunsplash Tour and The Ford Motor Company Californopia Tour and the numerous California State and County Fairs. They have performed nationally at leading venues throughout the U.S., such as the various House of Blues and Hard Rock venues, and at numerous Concert Theaters, averaging hundreds of shows a year.

COMMON SENSE has developed a solid grass roots following of loyal fans and continues to receive airplay on top alternative, modern rock and AAA radio stations throughout the U.S. such as: 91X-San Diego, KROQ-Los Angeles, The X-San Bernardino, KJEE-Santa Barbara, Star-Las Vegas, KFOG-San Francisco, KESO-So. Padre Island, WEBK-Vermont, WLPW-Lake Placid, KRZQ-Reno, WRVG-Lexington, KFMU-Steamboat Springs, KSPN-Aspen, KMTN-Jackson Hole, KVNF-Telluride, KUNC-Denver, KPCC-Pasadena, KTAO-Taos, KSUN-Santa Rosa, Q-103-Maui, Star 100-San Diego, KHLI-Maui, KKCR-Kauai, KMJC-Redding, KFLZ-Corpus Christi, KOTR-San Luis Obispo, WDWN-NY, KNXS-St. Louis, KPOI-Honolulu, and The Radio One Network, as well as many other stations in major markets throughout the U.S.

In 1999 COMMON SENSE revolutionized music promotion by favoring sponsorship from O�Neill Sportswear, a leading surfwear company and Pacific Sunwear, a preeminent specialty retailer, in lieu of a record company, for tour and promotion support. The two companies financed COMMON SENSE on their tours in 1999 including The Vans Warped Tour, and paid for full-page advertisement spreads in various publications, like Rolling Stone magazine, Spin magazine and many other music, extreme sports and surf publications.

COMMON SENSE spent the summer of �99 on the Vans Warped Tour, performing in front of literally hundreds of thousands of new fans in stadiums across the U.S.A. COMMON SENSE then went to Europe to participate in the Swatch Wave Tour, which was broadcast to over 10 million people. The band has appeared at many other noteworthy events, including: Surfrider Foundation events, US Open Surfing, U.S. Volleyball, The Cuervo Cup, Willie Nelson�s Farm Aid and many children�s charities for the Make a Wish Foundation, and COMMON SENSE has also performed at the inaugural ball for California Governor Gray Davis.

The bands T.V. appearances include national spots on MTV, Fox Sports West, ESPN, NBC, CBS, ABC, and many other appearances in major markets around the world. Their music has been featured on many soundtracks for innumerable action sports videos as well as motion picture features such as King Pin with Woody Harrelson and Speed II with Sandra Bullock.

Over the past decade, COMMON SENSE, has either played or shared the stage with some of the biggest names in show business, including: Jackson Browne, Dave Mason, Paul Simon, Jewel, Willie Nelson, Ziggy Marley, Steel Pulse, Neil Young, Tracy Chapman, Hootie and the Blowfish, Pato Banton, Burning Spear, Jimmy Cliff, Yellowman, EEK a Mouse, and No Doubt to name a few. Due in part to their national and international exposure, the bands first three CD�s, "State of the Nation", "Live at the Belly Up", and "Psychedelic Surf Groove" have continued strong sales.

COMMON SENSE�S much anticipated CD, "State of the Nation, Then and Now", was released in 1999 and the band has zealously promoted their new CD since. It�s available in stores now. Fans can also log on to the bands website at and download the bands music in MP3 or Liquid Audio format.

COMMON SENSE has won many music awards, including the California Music Awards and the San Diego Music Awards 3 years in a row.

Bands such as Sugar Ray, Korn, Pennywise, Ozomatli, and the Offspring, have all used the Vans Warped Tour to introduce their sounds to the world. COMMON SENSE will undoubtedly enjoy the same success.
