the Queen of Swing® Kelli Grant

What does she do? SWING! Big Band, Jump Blues, Swing Blues, Western Swing and Rock-a-Billy. But to shorten the description, she calls her music: Swing-a-Billy™. And that pretty well nails it. You just add the Swing Queens gyrating piano poundin' leads (reminescent to Jerry Lee) to the hits of Louie Prima, the Drifters, Ray Charles, Benny Goodman, Glen Miller and Bob Wills and you have the exciting and high energy sounds of one of America's best kept secrets, the Queen of Swing™, Kelli Grant. Kelli is an award winning songwriter also performing her own hits: "the Queen of Swing", "Swing-a-Billy" and "Don't Mess With Me". Being from Texas, Kelli wowed the Texas Department of Transportation prompting them to issue a special license for the use of their logo for her, "Don't Mess With Texas", From her charts topping Western Swing CD's you'll hear her own: "Swing Me Back to Texas" and"Honky Tonk Hardwood Floor" plus some true Texas Swing classics. The secret to her swing sound is her lefthand. At the age of 7, Kelli’s Mother taught her to play a walking bassline with her left hand, popularized by Walter Page from Count Basie’s Band & the “swing” era since her hands were too small to reach the customary octave. Over the years Kelli has perfected her lefthand to an awesome walking bassline that people wonder where the bassman is. A masterful art when coupled with her overwhelming piano rhythm and leads. You have NEVER heard a piano player like this.

Of course she is a SINGER and that is her passion. She is in the World Who's Who Jazz, Cabaret Singers, New York, NY. She has received numerous awards and nominations including an “Honorable Mention” from Billboard for an R&B original, "the Way Love Use to Be" but never the winner. Now; she can add to her long list of credentials, AWARD WINNER! In September Kelli became the WINNER of the Will Rogers Award, Female Vocalist of the Year. Publicly proclaimed by Regional Arts director, "an exceptional entertainer" Kelli has been on the Mid-America Arts Alliance touring roster with subsidized funding by the National Endowment for the Arts.
