John D. Watkins, A.K.A. “J Sax”, a Cleveland native, is the Music Director and leader of Notes + Sounds. Mr. Watkins is a 12-year veteran saxophone player and currently attends Cleveland State University, receiving formal training in his instrument, pursuing his degree in Business. He is a graduate of the Cleveland School of the Arts, class of ’98, and has performed at the Tri-C Jazz Fest and numerous other events as the featured saxophonist. He has also performed with bands such as “Funkafied Jazz” and “Out Da Box”, and can be seen around town playing with the band “Key 2 K”, when he is not playing with Notes + Sounds. Mr. Watkins, or J Sax, as he is known by his peers is currently working on his official 1st national CD release and is working with http://itunes.com, rhapsody.com, and amazonmp3.com to release an online album as well with Notes + Sounds. Under management by F.A.S.® and First American Media, John is surely climbing the ladder of success very quickly and has positioned himself to be ahead of the game. Be on the lookout for Mr. Watkins. He is exceeding and surpassing the expectations of his peers and is definitely on his way to setting an example for many others to follow.
