Randy Muller’s music career spans more than three decades. As a songwriter, arranger, artist and producer, he has achieved multi-gold and platinum status for his work with such groups as B.T. Express, Brass Construction, Instant Funk, Jazz great Charles Earland, and Skyy, to name a few. From " Movin'" to "Start of a Romance", He has produced and penned and performed on over 200 ASCAP and BMI titles that have graced the pop, jazz, dance and R&B charts. In addition to his to work on keyboards, percussion and vocals, he is also a jazz and classical flautist with a newly released Smooth/ Nu-Jazz CD entitled Groovin’ U.” It features Muller and his group Randy Muller Boom Chang Bang, on the Wavehill/Plaza Records label.
Founder and leader of the chart topping R&B/ Funk band Brass Construction, Randy's career as a recording artist, writer and arranger took root in the 1970s with a contract with United Artist Records ( Liberty,EMI/ Capital Records) which lasted almost a decade. Brass Construction's self- titled album debut, featuring the single " Movin' ", resulted in outta -the-box platinum album sales and three consecutive gold albums which catapulted the Brooklyn based funksters onto the global music scene.
Today, his music can be heard on tracks by artists such as NWA, Too Short, The Bucket Heads, LiL' Kim, Salt n Pepper, Monifa, Black Street, Dr. Dre, DMX and Maria Carey to name a few. In addition, television shows such as "Martin", " The Keenen Ivory Wayans Show,” “Everybody Hates Chris” and the Soul Food, Action Jackson, Biker Boyz, Players Club, and Beauty Shop movie soundtracks, to name a few, all spell continued success for this musical legend.
He is currently on the road performing with his soulful/Nu Jazz entourage Randy Muller Boom Bang Chang, in support of his long awaited “Groovin’ U” CD which features Muller on flute and keyboards, along with some of New York's hottest musicians and vocalists.
