It always starts with that gut feeling, an acoustic guitar, and an empty bottle of Canadian flavored water. OilSpill poured into the street of Bellflower Ca, in 2006 introducing a fresh new rock sound of melodic tunes, and emotionally driven lyrics. Standing out amongst a genre of music, these 4 men have joined a revolutionalized movement that is electrifying with influences from every corner of the world from rock to hip hop, country to r&b and jazz to fusion. The voice of Oilspill is led by Zee Toure; his stage presence fills the crowd and demands attention. As an aggresive vocalist, Zee has followed such influnces such as Lenny Kravitz, Stevie Tyler, Ty Taylo, Maxwell, Bob Marley and many other vocalist from all parts of the world. Supported by guitarist Reuben Stewart, bassit Quantea Jhonson, and drummer Vincent Fosset Jr., the band invades every venue capturing new fans with a very intergetic and captivating performance. Oilspill grew up around some of the worlds greatest musicians such John "Jubu" smith, Nissan Stewart, Errol Conney, and Andrew Gouche. They have also shared the stage with recording artist such as Ricki Fante, Ndami, Chico Debarge, Cherokee, Sleepy Brown, and Gale Johnson. OilSpill has created a sound that is original yet influnced with great respect to those who have come before them. The memebers are not only best friends but moved and touched by the passion to create songs that exsist in todays time but relevant for the next generations to come.
