Steve Bradford, pianist

Steve Bradford is a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He played solo piano, had a jazz trio that performed throughout North Carolina, and has appeared with the Winston-Salem Symphony Orchestra. He worked several summers at Tanglewood Barn Theatre both as an apprentice actor and musical director for summer stock. He was invited to enroll in the inaugural class of the North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, but elected to study speech and drama at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska. While there, he wrote the music for a children's musical, A Touch of Magic. Mr. Bradford served in the US Air Force with the Armed Forces Radio and Television Services, working as a newscaster and announcer in Florida, Thailand, and the Far East Network in Tokyo, Japan. He had prior broadcast experience in local radio and television, having worked for WAIR, WSJS, and WXII-TV in Winston-Salem. He left the military to work in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles, starting with NBC Television and then forming his own television promotional advertising firm. P. S. Promotions, Inc. provided merchandise awards and advertising for late-night talk shows (The Tonight Show) and tv game shows (including Hollywood Squares, The Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune, Let's Make a Deal, High Rollers, and many others.) Upon his return to Winston-Salem in 1982, Mr. Bradford renewed his interest and association with acting, appearing in several productions of the Winston-Salem Little Theater and the Winston-Salem Theater Alliance. He has appeared in numerous radio and television commercials and has added screen credits with appearances in the motion pictures Crazy People, The Lookalike, and Forrest Gump. Steve has been entertaining audiences and music patrons for over thirty years with his distinctive and enjoyable piano renditions. His emotion-filled interpretations of light classics and popular hits from the 30's to the present provide a fresh, mellow, and soothing performance experience for both young and old alike. He has applied his years of classical training to bring a special depth and richness to his arrangements of the melodies that have become standards through the years. He is an accomplished arranger, conductor and composer, as well as a concert soloist. He performs at clubs and engagements throughout the Southeast Steve has released a three-volume set of solo piano interpretations of favorite melodies from motion pictures and Broadway entitled Romantic Favorites from Stage and Screen and has just recently released a collection of special late-night, rainy-day favorites entitled Reflections.
